Favorite Books

So here I'm going to talk about my favorite subject...Books!

Reading has been my most favorite thing to do since I could remember. I would never have even wanted to attempt to write a book, if it hadn't been for the books I had read. Here are just some of my favorite books, and if you would like to see more check out my goodreads profile. I'm still building my list, and I fear it will be never-ending.

The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein
My favorite book, and no matter what I read, I don't think it will ever change. The Giving Tree was the very first  book that gave me those feelings you get when words touch your emotions--you know what I am talking about. And I was only ten.

Twilight by well...you know who.
I'm listing this as second, not because it's my second favorite book, but because it was a book that made me think about the characters for a very long time afterwards. I read the series before the movie came out, and I remember it was literally always on my mind. Stephanie Meyers really made her characters realistic even though the story is fantasy. I still feel if I went to Forks, I would meet them all.

Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
Aha! Yes, I did use "wallflower" from this book. Now, this is my 2nd favorite book. This book changed something inside of me and made me see the world a little differently. No, it's not some life-altering, crazy book. It's just about a boy and his first year of high school.
That's all.
But it makes you really dissect everything that has happened to you. It makes every little word that has been said to you blossom with feelings. It puts all the microscopic feelings inside of you into actual words.
 "I feel infinite."

Valiant/ or actually, anything by Holly Black
I say Valiant because it was a book I read in high school and I thought it was amazing. It was the first book where the guy the MC falls in love with isn't some handsome princely guy, but actually...a troll. And that, in itself is awesome.

The Mortal Instruments/ The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
These books always take me on great adventures with awesome, fictional characters and I mean, what can be better than that?

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
Her other works are awesome as well, but this one is just...wow. It's cloaked in mystery and innocent crushes. It has a darkness about it that makes your hair rise. It's just awesome and I can't wait for the third book in this series to come out.

The Girl of Fire and Thorns
I read this series recently and added it to the top of my list. Faraway world, average girl that achieves greatness from within herself, unpredictable romance...I mean, what more could a reader ask for?

Graceling by Kristin Cashore
Make sure you also read Fire and BitterBlue. These books are all about girl power. Great, strong heroines that do not need a man to save them. Hell yes!

Which brings me to...

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Duh! I didn't forget this! These books put you on the edge of your seat in a good way. Although, there is quite a lot of death, it's in a way that really shows you the main message of the story. Do you know what it is?

Man, this list can go on and on. And I think I will visit it in the future to add more, but for now, here are the books that come straight to the top of my head when I think of my favorites. If you have not read them...go and do it! And then let me know, so we can discuss them. There's nothing I love more than discussing books. Wait...there is. Reading them! Oh, and writing them, of course. ;)
